The Kingdom of God is At Hand For You
The world seems upside down these days. Things are such a mess with our governments, social issues and in our personal lives. People are struggling with physical and mental problems. How did things get so off track?
In the midst of it all, the Kingdom of God is advancing. Jesus sent many disciples out ahead of him “as lambs among wolves” in order to prepare the people for His coming. Today, we can do the same, inviting all that we encounter to know Jesus and return to a Godly way of living. What plagues our societies is a collective turning from God. Most of today’s problems are unsolvable without God’s help and intervention. The Kingdom of God is at Hand For You. We need to turn back to Him and be obedient to His ways. We can do this by:
- Asking God to forgive our sins, and resolve to change our ways. Then forgive ourselves as well.
- Read the Bible and spend time with daily devotions and religious commentary
- Pray daily, pray hourly, pray always! Keep the lines of communication with God open.
- Accept the Grace offered to you through the sacraments.
In the Old Testament, the priest-scribe Ezra read aloud the law of Moses to the people. In one accord they welcomed it and were overcome with emotion – it was a day holy and pleasing to the Lord, because the people accepted His Word. If only our cultures today would return to His ways and bring fully the Kingdom of God into our world!
